Frank is one of the founding partners of 4th-IR and, as the CEO , ensures that the organization remains true to its mission to transform healthcare delivery through the practical application of machine intelligence. Frank brings over 35+ years of global leadership experience to the team, with expertise in process automation, information technology, supply chain, environmental health & safety, sustainability, purchasing, and customer service. A true innovator, entrepreneur and investor, Frank is a Managing Partner of Trestle Group, a boutique consulting firm dedicated to making business better for leaders in the financial services sector. He is also a co-founder of, and investor in, Envoyworld, a Swiss startup that unleashes personal and professional network potential. He received a Bachelor of Science in applied physics at the HTS in Dordrecht.
Chief Financial Officer
Thomas is the CFO and one of the founding partners of 4th-IR. A serial entrepreneur in the finance and healthcare sectors, he is also Chairman of the Board of Trestle Group, a multinational holding company that empowers innovators to create the future of their industries. During his 20+ year career in banking, he was the Global CFO for Treasury at UBS and managed various operational accounting and finance roles as an agent of change in New York, London and Zurich. His latest venture, ICO Factory based in Zug Switzerland, focuses on implementing blockchain technologies in both finance and healthcare. Thomas received his EMBA from London Business School and Columbia, holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant in New York.
Chief Operating Officer
Bernhard is the COO and one of the founding partners of 4th-IR. He started his career working in the automotive industry and has since gained over 20 years of global experience in strategy, change management and technology consulting. In 2003, Bernhard co-founded Trestle Group, a multinational holding company specializing in the financial services sector, and has since developed unique consulting methodologies that ensure high-quality results for its customers and high growth for the company. A experienced entrepreneur and investor, Bernhard has recently ventured into blockchain technology and is a thought leader in building synergies between finance and healthcare. Bernhard received his EMBA from London Business School and holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Erlangen, Germany.
SVP Innovation & Strategy
At 4th-IR, Beth leads innovation and strategy, working closely with clients to solve their complex business problems through the application of data science and deep learning capabilities. Beth has a proven experience in driving organic growth by bringing new products and services to market. She has held various leadership roles in the healthcare sector, bringing 20+ years of experience in business intelligence, growth strategy, marketing and intellectual property management to the team. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Studies from Iowa State University, a Master of Arts in Foreign Affairs and Government from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Science in Healthcare Innovation from Arizona State University.
Chief Marketing Officer
Dave is one of the founding partners of 4th-IR and, as the Chief Marketing Officer, leads the company’s business development efforts. He brings deep healthcare experience to the team having held various roles in sales, marketing and strategy at companies like AstraZeneca and Global Sales and Marketing Solutions. Dave has a proven record for building businesses and currently serves as the owner and CEO of Downtown Restaurant Investments (DRI), the President/Owner of Facilities Management Consultants International and the President/Owner of DLR Development, a design-to-build solutions firm working extensively with the healthcare industry. He graduated from Aquinas College with a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in Biology and Chemistry.
Chief Data Scientist
Jon Kaufman oversees the creation and implementation of leading-edge artificial intelligence algorithms for application in healthcare, with an emphasis on deep learning and data science. Jon is passionate about deep learning, machine learning, and data science, and has a strong interest in cryptography and Blockchain technologies.
Jon has spent several summers at the geographic South Pole, building, testing, and decommissioning the BICEP2 telescope, for which he was awarded the Antarctica Service Medal from the National Science Foundation. He has been published in leading journals and was awarded the Buchalter Cosmology Prize for his research.
He enjoys engaging in science and technology communication and has appeared on NPR and the BBC, and his work has been featured in numerous news sources including The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, and the Guardian.
Dr. Kaufman received a Bachelors in physics at Carnegie Mellon University, and then went on to earn a Masters and Doctorate in physics at the University of California, San Diego studying Astrophysics and Cosmology.
